Captain Chuck Howes is a United States Coast Guard licensed Captain and retired from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Captain Chuck was raised and continues to live on his family's farm on the Patuxent River where he grew up fishing, crabbing, and hunting the length of the Patuxent and the Chesapeake Bay. His former employment with the Department of Natural Resources, and a lifetime spent on and around the Patuxent River and Chesapeake Bay makes Captain Chuck uniquely qualified to discuss the past and future of fishing in Maryland while taking charterers to the "sweet spots" most likely to ensure a successful fishing expedition.
Captain Chuck is a staunch advocate of the
wise use and conservation of Maryland's natural resources. He recognizes that adherence to
these principles must be top priorities if future generations are to enjoy fishing,
crabbing, and boating as he has throughout his life. Captain Chuck applies this philosophy
during every charter aboard Killin' Time II to ensure your trips are a pleasant
experience today and in the years to come.
Captain Tom Howes, co-owner of Killin' Time II, is a United States Coast Guard licensed Captain and a Battalion Chief for the Washington Metropolitan Airport Authority. Captain Tom's work schedule fortunately provides him abundant opportunities to indulge in his favorite pastime, fishing the Chesapeake.
In addition to having fished the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries his entire life, Captain Tom has over 20 years of experience as a professional mate aboard charter fishing boats. He treats each passenger aboard Killin' Time II as his special guest. His complete understanding of the differences between the "old pro" and the "first timer" allows him to adjust his program and services to perfectly match the experience of our guests. Youngsters are his specialty, and the photo album contains many pictures of Captain Tom posing with a happy child and his first fish.
Captain Tom has spent a lifetime fishing the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. His experience, love of the bay, and easy manner around children have resulted in many a triumphant youngster catching their first fish under his watchful eye. It's never too early to form memories that will last a lifetime aboard Killin' Time II.
Trolling, live-lining, bottom fishing, and jigging are all included in Captain Chuck's and Captain Tom's efforts to keep Killin' Time II in the thick of the finest fishing action available. Their love for fishing and a genuine interest in their passengers is always apparent, which explains why the number of "regulars" continues to grow.
Some other charter services might not have well-trained crew members. We are two very capable captains and veterans of charter fishing. This is just one of the many reasons why you should book a trip with us!
