Fishing places. By the islet
This is a wide duct, which is called either the second or the third. If we take into account an even wider channel, but rather an ice plateau that stretches from the high root bank, then this channel with a narrow and long island in the middle will really be the third. The long island, which forms the second narrow channel, stretches almost to the Fried hillock, and is cut off in the southeastern side by braids that either appear from the water or disappear. Just opposite such a scythe or a very low island, barely noticeable among the deep snow, a pike was once caught more than a pound in weight. The island, which is located in the middle of the wide third channel, also has its own story related to my adventures.
If you pass from the islet through the duct, which the islet forms, then on the other side there used to be a big dugout, about ten people, and if you squeezed it would have entered more. And on a long island, which is the shore of the second channel, not so long ago there was a dugout, where we had always spent the night before. Near the dugout even an apple tree grows, which in the fall pleases with ripe fruits. This suggests that these places were inhabited before flooding. Even the road stretches along the island, but is no longer passable for a walking fisherman, hunter because of tree trunks lying across.
My island, which is located in the middle of a wide third channel, is associated with two events.
Firstly, with the successful fishing that this place gave us once in March
Although it was hard for me and my little older son to go skiing on wet snow, the fishing result was not bad. Five pikes, one of which weighed 4 kilograms, and we caught five kilograms of perch and roach with my son in a couple of days. We spent the night just in that dugout, in which the apple tree grows. True, now it is no longer growing in housing. The dugout collapsed. But her death came before destruction. For some reason, some strange people of the Zhlobsky character warehouse began to rebuild it, and to rebuild it only for two people. If earlier five people could spend the night in this dwelling, sitting sideways on the bunk, and in the frost and under the bunks, now these strange builders dismantled the bunks at the back wall of the dugout, made two narrow benches next to the stove, which they raised for some strange purpose almost a meter. This cannot be explained at all. If before the stove stood above an earthen floor no higher than twenty centimeters, and the heat went up, according to the laws of physics, now the stove should probably have heated the ceiling of the dugout. Everything was “broken up” and broken, unfinished. Such a rout could have been caused either by abnormal people or complete “dummies”, moreover, redneck, single-minded orientation. It was also possible to understand the construction of some vestibule or canopy begun by these people in front of the entrance, but it was not completed and seems to have been abandoned, since they had obviously not spent the night in the dugout.
Another event – a robinsonade in late autumn on this narrow island, which can be seen in the background photo
We went on a boat under the water. It was intended for one rower – the owner of the boat, Leonid, who had “wagged” the net from this boat. Locals who fish in nets for food usually put their gear under the village, in the so-called “swamp” – shallow water with snags and aquatic vegetation. City fishermen call such places “frogs”. There are no special delicacies here. The “swamp” is quiet, there is no wave and wind. That’s why the boat is not so Volga. In general, we went with Nikolai Beard under the water, which was already icy, like in winter. Duralumin boat for watering fields, heavy. Not soon surfaced and far from the shipwreck. I had to spend the night on an island in the rain with snow. And I was still without boots that slipped off my feet when I sailed to the islet with an oar under the “arm”. If I had not warmed up and dried the lighter on my neck and made a fire, we would most likely have died from hypothermia. In the morning, when I had already cut the OZK cloak into plaits, and we were going to build a raft, we were removed from the islet by fishermen and transported to the island, where in front of the warm dugout there was an old bottle of vodka on the table and cigarettes on the bunks. Then I still smoked, and so wanted to inhale the smoke.
