On the Volga from the shore
In the morning, the Volga resembles a large lake. Almost no current, and along the coast stretch strips of greenery. Hydroelectric plant gates usually open at around ten o’clock. Only then can you start the engine and go to checked their places. Such places are mostly located on the right high bank of the Volga in the area of the village of Kokshaysk, where both the depth is greater and the current is stronger. There you need heavy gear and powerful anchors. Donka – “ringing” with a kilogram of lead in the feeder – the most popular gear. Large ides, bream keep here and from time to time make themselves felt with sharp bites and the ringing of a bell on the gatehouse of the onboard donka. But all this is possible when the “give” the current. In the early morning, if you can’t sleep, you can only admire the beauties of nature.
I have a spinning and feeder always in stock
Any fishing is unpredictable: either there is no biting, then it takes a predator or other fish, which was not hoped for. It happens differently in fishing, and it is better to have different gear.
Also with bait
If the old-fashioned bucket feeder “ringing” is stuffed with lure of its manufacture, more often with a mixture of porridge, steamed peas and flavors, then feeder feeders on light side donks are bait for the feeder. Fishing, albeit from a boat, and feeders and fodder are what you need for fishing at shallow depths and in estuaries flowing into the Volga. Therefore, a couple of complementary foods are always at hand.
Today, time is ticking, slower than ever
We leave Sergey from the backwater with the motor and move to the island, which stretches along a long scythe along the Volga. Here, usually in the summer they catch sabrefish. On the island I check the still coastal waters with a spinning rod. Maybe he’ll take a pet on a custodian or a “turntable”? No, silence and stagnation, both on water and in bite. The companion got only a perch on a tandem of spinners.
In order not to stare at the water for nothing, I take out a feeder, stuff a 40-gram feeder with the Fishbait Gold Bream Vanilla bait and send hooks with worms and maggots thirty meters from the shore, where at least some movement of water is noticeable. Sergey went to the other side of a narrow island with a spinning rod.
Sunbathing so sunbathing
Having warmed up on warm sand, I almost fell asleep, but then something prevented a sweet nap. Ah, so this rod fidgets in the sand in the flyer, and the top, it turns out, is biting and often nods above the water. The cut! A large scavenger came on the fishing line. And then came a white-eyed sopa, a big-eyed … Small only. Then the bruise caught on. From time to time peckers of various sizes also pecked. Not without, of course, without a ruff.
In a word, I didn’t have to get bored this morning and before the current
And then Sergey hastily showed up, saying that something was splashing on the other side. We came there with ordinary fly fishing rods, threw it for weed and began to wait. Bites followed right there. It seems that the whole trifle that was in the neighborhood attacked the worm and maggot … But it was obviously not her splashing around. I had to not be too lazy and go to the boat for feeders.
Throw light feeders twenty meters to start. Although the current is weak, there is one. This can be seen by the grains of greenery floating along the coast. There is no current on the Volga, but here it is slowly pulling … True, from Kokshagi. Water discharge goes to the shallow Volga. As they give a strong current, on the contrary, the water stops, and sometimes it goes back to the mouth …
There, where the feeding troughs with leashes in the sliding version and the worms on the hooks were thrown, the bite of the little things stopped. It can be seen that there is a deeper place. The fishing line goes steeply into the water. And here are the first confident bites! .. I’m hooking! Almost simultaneously with a friend. Something heavy rests on the fishing line. At the same time, they pulled along the fish with a friend. Yes, it’s crucian! And not small ones. It seems to be just right to be surprised, but it is immediately recalled that the same strong and beautiful crucian carp even came across the “ring” on the Volga itself, though it was near our left bank. And it is appropriate to recall that in our Malaya Kokshag city the same crucian carp appeared kilo years ago “some time ago”. Every spring, there is now their furious move and nibble when the banks of the city river are surrounded by fishermen so that there is nowhere to stand. Apparently, they are not quite comfortable on the current Volga, so they are mastering new “Palestinians”.
